Testimonials

“After dealing with three different proofreaders during the process of submissions and re-submissions of my PhD dissertation, Amy is the only one who not only lived up to her reputation but literally did a perfect job for me. While others gave me a hard time with the reference lists and grammatical error, Amy was a thorough professional who not only delivered her work in time but not even a single issue was spotted by the examiners in their feedback. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a professional who knows her job best! Thank you Amy!”

Mahwish Zahra, Theology & Education PhD,
University of Newcastle

“Amy provided a full proofread of my doctoral thesis, including both the research and creative components. She was lovely to communicate with through all stages of the process and completed the full proofread quickly when I was on a tight submission date. Her proofreading was extremely thorough, and she picked up grammatical and spelling errors as well as inconsistencies, creating a style guide. Amy also checked all referencing carefully, correcting errors myself and my supervisors hadn’t picked up. I would highly recommend her services to anyone needing proofing work done.”

Candice Lemon-Scott, Creative Writing PhD, University of Newcastle

“Dr Amy Lovat has worked with me many times on editorial projects, proofreading academic articles and books for over 10 years. Dr Lovat's work is of a high standard and is thorough, fast and correct. She is a reliable and trustworthy colleague and a pleasure to work with.

She has proofread a number of PhD and Masters theses for my postgraduate students and provided high quality feedback for very reasonable costs. I highly recommend her for high quality editing and proofreading for authors and students.”

Dr Kathleen McPhillips, Senior Lecturer in Sociology, University of Newcastle

“When I asked Amy to proofread my PhD thesis, I was looking for someone who could handle both the technical demands of academic editing and the sensitivity of my research topic. My thesis was about 80,000 words and explored factors influencing young women’s online sexual and reproductive health-seeking behaviour in Bangladesh. It was a mixed-methods study that combined qualitative and quantitative data, and I knew it required careful attention to detail.

Amy exceeded my expectations in every way. She was meticulous with grammar, punctuation, formatting, and referencing, ensuring consistency throughout such a large document. More than that, she strengthened the clarity and coherence of my writing without altering my academic voice. This was very important to me—I wanted my arguments to come across more clearly, but I still wanted the thesis to sound like my own work. Amy achieved this balance beautifully.

Equally valuable was Amy’s professionalism and reliability. She was clear about timelines, communicated progress regularly, and delivered exactly when she said she would.

By the time I submitted my thesis, I felt confident that it not only represented years of research but also met the highest standards of presentation. Amy’s contribution made a tangible difference, and I would strongly recommend her proofreading services to any PhD candidate who wants their work to be presented at its very best.”

It really gave me peace of mind to know my thesis was in such careful hands. I would happily recommend her to anyone preparing their submission.”

Noor Adam, Oral Health Policy PhD,

“Working with Amy was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Her feedback was clear, insightful and easy to follow.  I appreciated the way she not only refined my work but also explained the intention behind every suggested change. She was highly efficient and returned my thesis within the exact timeframe she promised. She also worked seamlessly with my distinctive writing style and formatting preferences, enhancing the thesis without compromising my voice. Thanks to her expertise and meticulous attention to detail I submitted a thesis I was genuinely proud of, polished to a professional and exceptionally high standard. I cannot recommend Amy and her services highly enough.”
